Bones gets dropped off
after a trick.

He doesn’t know
where he’s at.

The street seems to be full
of Bible thumping Protestant
preachers.

They’re rather boring him
half to death.

There’s so many of them.

They all seem to say
the same thing.
They’re stifling Bones.

Bones runs and runs,
and wakes up,
lying on the bare floor
in his own room,
where he belongs.

It was all a horrible dream.

Bobby

Oh Bobby, it sounds like he needs to borrow a 'salty' dream.

Thanks dear Kacy,

A good salty dream comes in handy so many times.

Those bible thumping preachers have no idea Bobby.

People do what they have to to survive.

I know Bones understands this.

Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told.

Thanks Luke,

For the kind words to Bones.  Bones God understands too.

Poor old Bones has some terrible moments in his life.
Too bad there's not someone truly loving him to soothe the pain he feels.
I always feel for Bones.

Bobby,

I can't help thinking that the dream could be more vividly presented, perhaps with some of that good old Freudian distortion. By the way, Freud's On Dreams is merely a hundred pages, and a very accessible read. And after reading it, re-reading MacBeth becomes such a pleasure

I can empathise with Bones. But without an experience baggage, without having threaded a path that sometimes met that of Bones, I'm not too sure how much I could relate, or feel it.

Bones has enough to deal with in his waking hours! Perhaps a cup of warm milk before bedtime, would bring peaceful dreams whilst he slumbers. ~ But somehow, I don't think our beloved Bones is a warm-cup-of-milk kinda guy!

Thanks Eric,

What you say is true.  Bones, like many children, is alone.  They deal with that the best they can.

Thanks dear Linda,

I'm afraid you are correct.  Bones is rather lactose intolerant.  I think he might be up for a hot toddy though.

Thanks dear Juju,

For reading and commenting.  It really wasn't meant to be sad.  It was a bad dream.

Hi Bobby, it is difficult sometimes to believe some people, preachers are people too and there are bad and good ones.

thanks for the poem.

Thanks Yann,

What you say is true.

However, all the experiences I've had with them have been unpleasant.

At least he could run in the dream, dear Bobby! Sometimes we are stuck during a nightmare. Well, but what did they say? It does not seem so horrible to me. I have endured protestant attacks for real as we, as catholic children, were the minority.
It doesn't make much sense to me, being all Christians!

Love,

Thanks dear Margherita,

You are correct, it doesn't make sense.  Also, it doesn't matter if it's about religion, or anything else.  People shouldn't attack others for any reason.

I do remember when I was a kid, one of those street preachers held me out in the rain on a cold afternoon trying to convert me.  I was too polite to walk away from a grown-up who was talking to me.  I caught a horrible cold that led to strep throat.  It laid me up for about a week.

I would have helped you with those guys.  Us "cat-lickers" have to stick together.

Love Bobby
