Gazing up into the heavens, at the closing of the day;
watching all the stars appearing; ageless in their constancy.
So far away... I wonder, which ones you can see in your night sky?
Does your moon rise huge, and pale... when the glow of evening dies?

Does your evening sun crash down... a blazing orb... swift, lost from sight?
Or, gently sink; all wreathed in soft-veiled clouds... then fade to velvet night?
If you see a shooting star... a fiery finger rushing through
the night...
a tiny wish, perhaps?... Hoping one day, it comes true?

Do you have a favourite star to wish upon, somewhere up there?
Perhaps the Northern Pole Star... frozen; sparkling in the cold night air.
Perhaps that star at eventide; low in the West... so clear and bright;
glittering, like a drop of dew on spider silk, in soft moonlight.

Can you see Orion, hanging, like some galleon in the sky?
Drifting, ghostly.... East to South, as spring comes round, and winter dies?
Can you trace the Milky way... sprinkled careless through the night;
the great, Celestial Super-highway...
is it perhaps, where our thoughts meet?

The wind is in the West tonight. Perhaps, a few short hours ago
it kissed your cheek, and softly stroked your hair...
as it does, to me, now.
It is a tiny, silly thought, and yet, I hope it's true; you see...
for, if it is... it may bring you a little closer, then...
to me.

excellent 'write' !

I love:

"the great, Celestial Super-highway...
is it perhaps, where our thoughts meet?(!)"

and the particularly fine ending:

"The wind is in the West tonight. Perhaps, a few short hours ago
it kissed your cheek, and softly stroked your hair...
as it does, to me, now.
It is a tiny, silly thought, and yet, I hope it's true; you see...
for, if it is... it may bring you a little closer, then...
to me."

significant (and long-sustained) applause!!

How did you know? lol, yes I see them all...a beautiful, romantic night...and my favorite star...well..maybe next time...

I love to gaze at the stars....especially human ones....blue, green, grey, brown...what color are yours?

not a silly thought at all, lovely I would say....
