When Bones shows up on the corner, after his long absence, the gang is glad to see him. Marika gives Bones a big kiss, while Butch, Wawa, Muck, and Felix all shake his hand, and give him manly hugs. The gang quickly notices a change in Bones. Before his incarceration, Bones was happy, smiley, and full of good jokes. Now Bones is sullen, and quiet, tells no jokes, and comes across as a little grouchy. The gang notices the change right away, and tries to snap Bones out of it. Bobby |

Maybe Bones misses the three meals a day and the lack of worries he had inside. Now he has to fight the street way for survival. He will come around because he has no choice. I always feel bad for Bones and wish him the best. Eric |

Thanks Eric, That's a possibility. However, he was happy, and smiling before he went in. That's the way the gang remembers him. Perhaps it's like you say. He has to get back in his old groove. I'm sure the gang will bring him around in time. Time for me and the dog to take our nightly tour around the hood. Thanks for the good ideas on Bones. I'll say hello to him for you. Bobby |

Bobby - sounds like Bones has had a traumatic experience. Hope he comes out of it... BC |

Thanks Bill, I think you are correct. I'm sure the gang will nurse him back to his old self in time. Being locked up will do that to you. Thanks for your good wishes for Bones. Bobby |

Ah, how nostalgia stabs at us. People expect everything from the past to stay the same, but life is an evolution of spirit. Bones experienced reality's harshness. Survive the pain, become stronger and laugh again. |

Thanks Newpoet, You are absolutly correct. Bones has been changed by his experience. I'm sure that his friends from here in the hood will cheer him up and bring him around. It will take a little time. Bobby |

The street-corner I never knew, Bones's that is. We have such different worlds to live in - it's a wonder. |

Thanks Krawdad, You're correct. We all live in different worlds. We all have different street corners. It is a wonder, and that's what makes reading almost anything so very interesting, and enlightening. Thanks for the read, and the understanding comment. Bobby |

To be in authority's grip means to be treated like a number to put it mildly, not like a human being in bad need of some warmth and guidance. This brings along feelings of apathy and/or ideas of revenge. The gang surely will work the miracle on Bones to find the smile again. Love, Margherita |

Thanks dear Margherita, Yes, the gang did eventually bring Bone back to life, with his smile, and good humor. It just took a while, and a lot of serious effort. Love Bobby |

I think I know what has changed Bones. Not only he has received confirmation that the "good society" (for lack of a better word) will not accept him, he also knows that it is at least as cruel and violent as what he has seen on the street, if not worse. Mark |

Perhaps Bones is angry that the state has punished him for a crime commited out of need, taught him an empty lesson and thrown him back out on the streets with no support. I'm not trying to second guess Bones, but I know that's how I would feel. Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told. |

Thanks Suncleaver, You have it right. Bones is quite bitter about the whole thing. It's never a good, or useful experience for a kid like Bones. Bobby |
