.

Old oaks
In full leaf
Cool blue
Summer shade

Boys on bicycles
Imagining themselves
Calvary or Sabre
Fighter cavaliers
Racing down the road

Cats and dogs
Patrolling
Their neighborhood
Oldsmobiles
Painted olive drab
Parked along the curbs

Silent bats
Flitting in the light
Of wooden poled
Streetlamps late at night
While under a million
Twinkling stars

Dreaming about
The girl next door
You never cared for
Not that long ago
Though not really
Knowing why

Fresh out of the pen I see. Yery nice piece. The Girl next door..hmmmmmmm, that brings back memories. Thanks for that

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Nice memories.
