rippled mantle like a cobble-stoned lane meand'ring softly as a wand'ring child stepping gently, crossing slowly once again revealing currents scattered deep and wild reigning in a kingdom of fostered showers billows rise like zeppelin clouds of ease coaxing daisies like dawdling flowers fresh to life's incessant breeze filtered breaths of windswept air clothed in day-mist's soft unfurling changing scene-pools of slow despair leaves aloft and swiftly swirling comes the rain in fevered splendor comes the rain in fervent wonder while the soul rests, in complete surrender |

Oh I love that last line because I have felt it so many times. This comes across so well with such an excellent choice of words to support your metaphors Steavan. Write on! Eric |

steaven, it is such a pleasure to happen upon a poem that oozes serenity. It certainly was the "pause that refreshes" for me, this day! Lovely! ![]() ![]() Linda |

Ida, waiting for the rain...now that's a pleasant thought...thank you for reading and leaving such a nice comment Eric, glad you liked the last line...almost changed it at the last minute, but left it alone after much self-debate...thank you for the generous comment...I appreciate it Margherita, Thank you...the end is such that it will read to whomever reads it how they see it at that time...thanks for highlighting the passage that you did...wasn't sure about those lines... Linda, so glad you found this then...always a pleasure to share serenity and peace...thank you for your kind comments... yann, so much good comes while waiting for the rain...and then the rain itself is not that bad...thank you for reading and commenting |
