Layers & Doors

This was a good day
to court layers, not only for their nature
of colors and shifting shapes
but asking the why of their cause
for giving eyes reasons
to see beyond…

the day lent to moments where,
when the sun was just right
it streamed through the fog of mind
streaming through trees, casting spells,
paralleling prismatic patinas,
hues hugging horizontally, as they do,
without fail

without question…

and I wanted to grasp the quality
of floating gems,
for you,

but beauty is fleeting
and all things mysterious
fade into light

this was the day I saw
funnels of fog light
dance on a river ~
several hundred
small funnels of spirit matter
attempting to draw loose from the water,
to float upwards, to beyond

rooting in me a thought to think
of times not now, not here,
but of then, and there, as ever was,

so I did what I do, in an attempt
at understanding, and looked
for a sign…

when I saw him…

so high above, looking strangely
ancient, on his way toward the light,
to a doorway

beyond

where understanding is held
on a higher realm,
there, on a plane

that calls out to those who listen

even through the cacophony

even when they cannot believe
that they, too,
can lift layers

to see just a little more…

Lovely.  It made me remember some of the more spectacular things I've seen ordinary nature do.

Hi ya sunny.

A very feminine write for me.
You lose me a little in spots, but I agree

Just a minute............Gotta get the fuzz out of my navel
Gosh.....There might be more layers under those layers.......
Then what would I do......
Are your layers the same as my layers?.......
Wait a minute.......I think I see more fuzz.....

Yes those layers are hard lessons learned

Like you, I can't easily dismiss what I know I don't understand. (Learned that one the hard way, too.)

I am still learning it, daily.

much enjoyed lovie, and I don't mind the feminine p.o.v.

But then, of course I wouldn't.

nice work here...

There's layers of good lines in this with great perspective for searching out.

You're a good writer my dear.

"but beauty is fleeting
and all things mysterious
fade into light"

~ but it is a poet like yourself who is able to capture those moments for eternity.

This is the Sunshine magic.

I love to watch the clouds and capture images too.

Very beautiful, dear Karilea!

The beauty - well it just wraps around me and lingers even now as I write my response.  Some poems reach inside me as if taking hold to stay for awhile.  This is one such poem.  It is welcome to reside in me for as long as it wants to stay.

This is such a swirl of emotions, it literally transcends across the heavens and lifts the reader up..
because in truth, we all share the same sky, the same ray of sunshine if you will.

I had to come back and reread this one.  So very nicely conceived and executed.

Boy oh Boy........so nice. ehm should have said Girl, I guess.

"paralleling prismatic patinas,"

I can feel this as an artist, with very letter in the stroke of my brush. Very insperational, thank you for painting with words. Luv it.

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
