Yet Still I Remember

I remember;
              The sun shining, picnicking, two glasses
              Tingles of your fingertips-
              A tartan blanket and strawberries.

I remember;
           Promises, exchanged with rings;
           Kisses, smiles, cherry blossom-
           A captured moment of hope;

I remember;
           Children having babies-
           Money never going far,
           Tight lips which never smiled;

I remember;
           Stolen moments of joy-
                   Peek-a-boo and Rainbow’s bear;
                   Dreading your return.

I remember;
           Your lying eyes, broken promises;
           Perfume on your shirt-
           Tear flavoured dinners.

I remember;
           Walking a tightrope-
           No net, no safe path’
           Finally falling without shattering-

And yet still I remember;
                      An eternal summer’s song-
                      Captured, held, treasured’
                      Untarnished, softly glowing-
              Untainted by regrets

A realistic view of life as it is all too often.

My dear Marsha, those could have been my words ~ from beginning to the beautiful ending ~

My dear Marsha

How forgiving you are.
However there's nothing like that feeling when it's new and fresh.
Countless millions do silly things everyday over that feeling......Me specially.....Love ya kid!

Susan, Ida, Linda, and Eric, thank you all so very much for being kind to me. I just wish I could write half as well as you all do.

This was one of the poems lasts weeks seminars brought out of me. We had to write an I Remember poem, I came up with several but this one seemed to speak to me as the others didn’t. It was definitely autobiographical luckily that isn’t the way I live any more. These days I am happy, and fairly content, if a little stressed with all the work I need to do. Why oh why did I choose to do two Degrees at the same time?

I never realised how difficult Free Writing is, all those exercises came out badly. Right now, and I mean at this moment, I am struggling with a critique Badly Chosen Lover by Rosemary Tonks.

I miss you all very muchly, and wish I could pop in more often.
Take care
Love and warm stuff
as always

Maybe that's what keeps us sane... remembering not just awful endings but the promises whispered in precious beginnings... the sweet days as well as the sour. For it's when we see the complete picture that we grow... and gain the courage to try another beginning. *S*

It's so great to see your work here, dear lady... especially when it's so beautiful! *S*

Dear Marsha, I couldn't help but feel a
great sense of sadness when I read your
poignant poem but then I read in your

response that you have turned your life around and the sadness was replaced by a

smile. It just goes to show that things are never as bad as they seem at the time. Good luck to you my dear and a big hug.

Hi Marsha! I haven't seen you in a long time. These are wonderful memories to have. I have a few of them myself.

This started out ordinary but suddenly took an unexpected turn which made it memorable.  I guess that is a writing lesson for me to learn.
