where the hidden place in which the memories sleep when you lose them all can the loss be imagined when memory disappears Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |

I would think the loss of the memories would be felt just as strongly as the memories would be. I liked the way this one opens up the thoughts and I am sure it is one that I will be thinking about some more. Well done. |

This is a thought provoking write. It expresses what we all probably fear sometimes. When memories are gone from our consciousness, we won't feel the pain. I guess we feel it by imagining it before it actually happens! (hopefully a thing not to happen!) Btw. I do believe that thoughts are energy and therefore somewhere that "hidden place where memories sleep" does exist, ready to be rediscovered somehow, sometime ... We need to put fear aside. I think it can well be imagined when people come to you and quizzically ask, "what, you don't remember me?" As if it is their problem... I enjoy the show NCIS. The fear that Mark Harmon's character exhibited when he had a memory lapse after an explosion was truly and terrifyingly shown... Because it can happen. May you never lose all of your memories! ![]() |

What if only a few memories are lost? Could that be as bad or worse than total loss? --------- Mark ~ Thanx for the read. Susan ~ None of us do, I think. You, however, can never be forgotten gal ![]() Margherita ~ I disagree, somewhat. There definitely is a pain with partial memory loss. An agonizing emptiness where you know something belongs. A fearful sense of loss. Sunshine ~ Always full of warm thoughts ![]() Kacy ~ I forgot ... have I travelled ![]() Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |

all memories are written in the present and therefore are changed, because we change. The story continues. ![]() |

whenever I forget something I think of the excuse that our brains are like computers and every now and then something has to be deleted (emptied) to make room for more memories. All kidding aside, the memory may be temporarily forgotten until something you do or someone you see or an event happens to trigger it again. Like many things in childhood. I don't usually think or remember them at all at my age and then something like finding a dead bat floating in my bathtub recently reminds me when I was a child of 8 and had such fears of them that I always covered my head with my blanket at night.(you know...that myth about them getting tangled in your hair) and remembering thinking there was one in my bedroom when it was just a leaf that came through the screen. *I know, long story that should have been shortened* ![]() M [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (02-23-2009 07:30 PM).] |

Interloper, Being the age where some of my friends are slowly losing their memories, I can attest to the fact that they do indeed know they are forgetting and it hurts to see the sadness that knowledge brings to them. Maybe for few, it is a blessing, but to most it is sad indeed. thank you for this. latearrival |
