Spendin’ the Night with Keb’ Mo’

There is no moon tonight.
No stars cheerfully glance
through my window.
There is no television noise
to  break the silence.
There is only Keb’ Mo’ guitar
enveloping the room.
There is only my mind
trying to make sense
out of nonsense.
There is no moon tonight
and I am happy to see
only black from my window.
There is no conversation
only Keb’ Mo’ in my ears.

I love Keb Mo.

Good choice for the funky blues and some super acoustic guitar work. He plays electric well too but I love his acoustic work. Some great slide!
That smooth voice delivery with just a hint of rasp in it.
Yep don't blame ya, I could easily spend a night listening to Kevin Moore.
By the way, you are describing the situation so very well in this.

Take care don't get lost in the snow...
While you're listenin to ol Keb Mo

Ya better "Slow Down"....LOL!

Eric

I was down for so long
Everything I did was wrong
And I found fault
In everyone but me

I was hurt and alone
I could not find my way home
Broke-down and hungry
And too tired to moan

[Chorus]
Then I heard somebody calling my name
Saying ain't no need to be shamed
I found out that The Door was always open

I was trapped in my mind
A prisoner of my own design
Lost in a world
A world of confusion

I was there by myself
Couldn't find no help no where else
Thought I'd call up the hotline
But there was nobody there

[Chorus]
Then I heard somebody calling my name
Saying ain't no need to be shamed
I found out that The Door was always open

Were you listening to that one?......(smile)....

Go team Keb Mo.

Alison - I know exactly what you mean, I've listened to 'Keb Mo' many evenings, and love the music...

Thank you Allison! My son is an electric guitarist so I guess that is why I never heard of Keb' Mo'. I just sent the videos to him and will wait for his reply to see if he likes him. I like him very much. latearrival

Eric,

I do so love that song.  That was not the one I was listening too though when I was writing the poem.  I had just bough "Big Wide Grin" and was listening to the end of Grandma's Hands - I think anyway.  Keb' Mo' is just one of those artists that I think I would love to know.  Know what I mean?

SEA,
