A New Day

Today is a new day
We never know what lies ahead
What kind of day can we expect today
Hopefully a day where no one’s dead

But what kind of life would that be,
A life without love, happiness, and pain
It would be a life not worth living
A life where there is nothing to gain

Not all people have seen the values of life
Some have never seen the day of light
So, as a friend, don't give up at the first signs of strife
But to overcome your fears and fight with all your might

You might ask yourself what all this means
But I really don't know what to say
All I do know is that life can't be foreseen
And that to live life as a brand new day

Nice poem, I like the way that it looks at teh bright side of life even though many of the poems that we all post are those of great sorrow. This poem explores the brightness of life and how to start clean and forget all of those in your past....this is what it meant to me anyways. Great job.
