I see you Standing in your clothes Wrapped around you like a shield Penetrating and intense I try not to take offense But I'm offended anyway I see you Looking through me with your eyes And everything I've ever wanted Resides within their depths Forgetting the events That let to this one moment In time I see you I feel your arms around me So warm and inviting Knowing tomorrow you won't know my name And to you I'm just the same As the girls that came before me You didn't bother to tell me I see you Already planning your escape And I, ignorant, didn't realize I would be remembering that moment With sadness so redundant I'd repeat it in my sleep I see you Not then as I do now Remembering your casual glance At the prettier faces gliding by Something I missed looking into your eyes You didn't tell me then you wanted Prettier faces and meaningless embraces So I learned on my own. Yet here I am, waiting For the call I'll never recieve And hopelessly dreaming of an ending Where you could never really leave But reality, never evading in my world Creates a tapestry weave Of all that you said, did, I thought I saw you But you're gone- |
