Every night, I watch you as you sleep hoping for a sign of life on your face. Every night, I read you a story wondering if you even hear a word that I say. My pain is ridiculous, I'd go numb without you here. Still, I wonder what your pain must feel like, to know that life has cut you short... When we were young, we promised to die on the same day, and now I'm sad to say that you're leaving this place before me. I could clench your hand everytime you hurt, I could watch you sleep forever, I could read you stories until there were no more books. But what I would do to hold you one more time, to laugh with you, and to cry with you. So, when you become my angel, never leave my side. And I'll await the day when we are together again. Dedicated to my best friend, T.A.H., who is about to become another victim of the fatal disease called AIDS. |

sometimes it is the "smaller" things in life that make a friendship so close. It causes an understanding, something of which we depend on. To take away the person with whom we share so much, can hurt so bad. I wish the best for you and your friend. For I know what it is like to lose the most important person in your life.
