You knew me better,
Than I knew myself.
You knew what I would do,
When you left.

I was scared of that day.
I didn't want to go.
But I knew I might not get another chance
To say goodbye.

I bore the day,
Being less than brave.
My heart ramming in my chest,
That last hour of the day.

I tried to act brave.
To act like myself.
But I couldn't hide the tears
That were bound to come.

I'll never forget that last time
We were together
Saying goodbye
Was the hardest thing ever had to do.
