The softest rustle of emerald leaves, Tiny sounds waft upon the gentle breezes. Friendly eyes ponder with curiosity, A place where a kind soul can simply be. Ancient wisdoms are revealed here, To the souls who will treasure and hold them dear. Time has no meaning within these earthy boughs, For forever kept here are long lost promises and vows. Deep within this cage of entangled branches, Long gone spirits lived their lives and took their chances. Even though their time has long since passed, Their marks within this peaceful world remain steadfast. Where powerful civilizations once reigned, Tender saplings now grow, Nature came to reclaim this land,to once again deny the right to know. Her lushious ferns and flowers bury the past, But man's time here will not be the last. Soon, mother nature will be struck down again, And man shall, for the time being, win. But for now all is well in this land of trees and brush, This lovely forest is calm and peaceful, untouched. ------------------ *Krista Knutson* |
