Once a time of darkness decended on the land, Innocence was lost and the blood was on the hands of man. In every kind soul, true fear was now known, Until from the heavens, a ray of light shown. She appeared on the gentlest of breezes, And brought all evil down to its knees. With a soft smile and the purest of love, She proved that she had descended from up above. At first the ignorant people refused to believe, That the answer to the ravaging hatred could indeed be she. For this tiny woman draped in the whitest of silk, Was no great warrior, nor even of that ilk. But the knowledge of the heavens far exceeds that of mans, For it knew that love could save this terrorized land. And it indeed seemed that they were right, For the woman had begun to set love ablaze in the darkest of nights. The people united and drove the great evil away, Pushed it to the bowels of the earth, and there it shall stay. Peace once again reigned in this sovereign land, And their gentle savior was never again seen by the eyes of man. ------------------ *Krista Knutson* |
