Touching The Void

Molten fire at the core of my being,
Rose petals swishing in whirlpools
Of things unknown, untouched.

Then there was you.

The dragons guarding my golden gates
Meekly stood by and let you pass,
Even they knew you were special.
Out of millions, you were the chosen one,
Destiny made our paths to cross.
One day she will complete her masterpiece.

You touched my void,
And there was no need to fill it
For it was gone.
In its place sits your nest.
The bird has flown but
One day a familiar flap of wings
Will alert me to your presence anew,
And I’ll welcome you home.

With a satisfied sigh,
Fate will lean back and gaze with a smile
At his art-form.

Yes! I've looked for these words, knew I'd know them when I found them, thank you!

Thank you for the reply. Such feelings and words can only be inspired by a very special person...you have one too?
I love mine so much...our eventual permanent togetherness is my dream. Lol hopefully not too eventual either!
