ok... so I like this guy and I'm pretty sure that he likes me too but that he is too shy to ask me out. So I want to ask him out but I really don't know what to say cuz I've never asked some1 out b4. And also because if he says no then I'll be completely mortified. If anyone understands what I'm trying to do and could help me out I would GREATLY appreciate it. I have NO idea what I should say. Thank you soooooo much. ~Alli~ |

you could always tell someone that you know will tell him, that you like him and want to go out with him? Or just take a direct approach and start a conversation, ask him for his phone number, if he gives it to you, that is a good sign, then call him and see where that goes? See if he isn't so shy over the phone. Or just be blunt with him, and say, I really like you and i was wondering if you want to go out with me? whatever you decide, good luck!! and let us know how it goes  |

Act casual about the whole thing, and don't place the importance of your whole life on it. During the course of conversation, say something like, "How about we go see (Kill Bill II, Ella Enchanted, whatever). I was going to go this weekend, and figured it would be cool to have the company." Or while you are talking, make a comment about going to McDonalds, or Pizza Hut, or some such... just make it seem like it is a last minute thing that you JUST thought of. That way, there is no pressure, and if he says no, then it isn't a rebuke of YOU, just your offer. If the topic doesn't come up during the "date" then make a second date, and eventually, it will happen. just my thoughts, though. Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs... |

I'd say, go for it. The first time I've actually been asked out (rather than me doing the asking) was just this past september...and my other relationships in which I did the asking were pretty good ones. I'd say that if you think he likes you back, chances are you're probably right and he's just hesitating because he fears rejection too. ~*Krista Lee Knutson*~ |

Thank you so much Sea, Ringo, and Alwye for all your help! Alwye you make a good point saying that "he might just be hesitating because he fears rejection too" Thanks for the help. Ringo, I also really your idea of just acting casual, that way there is not as much pressure. Great idea! And, Sea, thank you so much for everything (not just the help with this but the birthday poem, etc.) I'm not going to school tomorrow so the next time I'll see him is on Monday! (Don't worry I'll check back and tell you how it went) I'm going to be a nerous wreck till then ( ) ~~~~>  Once again, thank you guys sooo much for all your help!! Today I did end up going to school and I did see him, but I didn't really say anything yet. I will on Monday FOR SURE! But the really funny thing is that usually in luch he just says hi and then goes and eatsat histablewith hisfriends. But today he nad his friends came over to my table and he ate lunch with me the whole time. Out of all my frinds, I've only told a couple poeple that I liked him, but my friends sitting in front of me (who I never told)started giggling and whispering to me that we would make a cute couple. Pretty funny huh? I would have said something but I really didn't want to say anything in front of all these people sitting there, incuding his friends. Yes, I now do relize that I am rambling but I was really bored and didn't have any else more important to do. In only 2 days I'll know the truth! Okay sorry to bother everyone, and if you actually sat here and read this whole post, I applaud you. Congrats!!!  ~Alli~ |

you should say to him 'do you want to go out?' what im trying to say is, its perfectly natural for people to be attracted to each other. of course, everybody KNOWS this, but at the same time, everybody acts as if the opposite is true. i would even go as far as to say for you to say to him 'i like you'. why not? |

Just a quickie update for everyone...I'll write a longer one later. It turns out he did like me...just like Alwye said "he feared rejection too" We have been boyfriend-girlfriend for about a week now (  ) and I really, really want to thank you tell you all how much I appreicate your helping me out on a situation as stupid as this one.
