I can't even begin to say how disgusted and outraged I was to see the bombing by a Palestinian suicide bomber on the news this evening. This took place at a seaside resort hotel in Netanya, Israel on one of the most important religious gatherings to the Jewish faith, the beginning of their Passover. This truly has got to stop! I don't know what it going to take until everyone stops this hatred, we are one people on this one earth! I send my sincere condolences to anyone who had friends or loved ones in Israel involved in this recent event, and I extend my heart and hand to all those that still have to keep suffering. To all my Jewish friends, ![]() Perhaps if we all took time to understand and respect each others customs the hatred would slowly dissipate? Here is a link to learning all about Passover for anyone who is interested. http://search.aish.com/holidays/passover/default.asp?s=g&k=Passover And here is the link to the announcement CNN has prepared for the internet of this horrific attack by the Palestinians. http://www9.cnn.com/ Shalom ~* Sharon *~ [This message has been edited by Mysteria (03-29-2002 02:51 AM).] |

I’m not all that sure who’s right and who’s wrong, it seems to be a complex question with equally valid arguments on both sides. The fact that the timing is religiously significant to one side seems to magnify the horror but when you take into consideration the fact that this period isn’t regarded as a religious festival by the other side the bombing simply equates to another in a long line of atrocities perpetrated by both sides. It’s six of one and half a dozen of the other. |

There is never a right or wrong when lives are lost just a sadness that never seems to go away. I have had this ache since September last year that doesn't stop to the point that getting on a plane tomorrow terrifies me to tell you the truth. Holy wars were our first in history and I am sure will be our last. |

I hate to read the news. I hate to watch the news. I'd like to hide my head sometimes. Even in the middle of the Vietnam war, I can't remember feeling this much sadness about the world. |

The situation seems to worsen by the hour. All this vengeance killing is a terrible legacy for future generations on both sides. My daughter believes it won't stop 'till they are all dead. I think they're all too stuck in their own holiness attitudes to stop, and the taste for revenge is the only thing on their lips. They can't see the other POV and they can't even see clearly that they are killing themselves in the process. But I suspected the minute Ariel Sharon took power that things would go to badly. He is not a peaceful thinker, and the Palestinians really are being abused daily. Both sides are wrong. But how do you stop them? Sometimes I think only a horrific natural disaster will slow them down or stop them, something so mind boggling they will have to come together for survival. Aliens invasion? LOL. Giant earthquake? Droughts or flooding so severe they have to carry water pistols and shovels instead of guns? A giant shot of aneaesthesia dropped over the whole region, then take the weapons away while they aren't awake? My thoughts can get bizarre, but no more bizarre than the reality. I agree with you on the travel fears Mysteria. Putting Sara and myself on planes this year is scarier than it ever has been. And the last place I'd visit now is the middle east, for any reason. I nearly got my butt blown off in the early 70's, and it was peaceful there compared to now. And I know Netanya well. It was the seaside town closest to the kibbutz I lived on for a year. My heart skips a beat every time I read the news. Enough of this, I'm going to get some java and focus on LIFE. Hugs to all. [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (03-31-2002 12:56 PM).] |

Strange I was just about to post my thoughts on the CONTINUED bombing in Israel. Every day there is another one.Today I think I snapped. I think I cannot hear one more horrible thing about people killing eachother Why? God??? How ludicrous, if only everyone that fights in the name of God could see that it is so senseless. I pray it ends soon, and every day I hear of another bommbing. I cannot imagine how the people carry on over there. It is like Sept 11 every day for them. Ifeel so sad for them, all of the. Even the suicide bombers themseves are barely out of childhood. What is going on?? Someone has to end this somehow, it is too horrible. Well, that vented a little, but I don't feel much better. I just want peace on earth. Ever since Vietnam, I have wondered why? And it is getting worse and worse in the world. Maybe if we all pray at once, we can make change somehow? Peace to everyone. It's all prophetic, and there will be no peace until judgement day. |

I get home from work and watch the world news every night....it hit me awfully hard today when more than half of the newscast was about the Israelis and the Palestinians....I just don't understand how people that believe in a God that is supposed to be benevolent can murder so much and so carelessly....I wish there was some answer but I fear that there never will be....definitely a sad situation. *Krista Knutson* |
