Until You’re A Grandmother You’ve raised your children now they’re gone You’re there in the house quiet and alone When your first instinct is you’ll need a little noise Here comes grandchildren two girls and two boys ! It’s Heaven to you when you make them smile You kiss them and say, "see you in awhile" The feelings you get makes you feel brand new You’ll never know until you’re a grandmother too. With four grandchildren and one on the way God took my fifth one to live with Him and stay I miss her, I love her I feel so blue You wouldn’t know until you’re a grandmother too. ~Sylvia Allison 9/25/99 ------------------ ~Sylvia |

Sylvia, Your poem was beautiful. I have three grandchildren and understand what your saying as for the joy they bring is like nothing ever experienced before. I can't imagine your pain of loosing a grandchild. I offer you my prayers and God's speed for your healing. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- Thou who has given so much to me, give one thing more: a grateful heart. >George Herbert |
