I wasn't sure if this is the proper place for this but since it was/is a very feeling issue I felt it could be here. After remarrying my first wife after a period of separation it didn't take long for both of us to realize we would each be happier apart. Fortunately our relationship is friendly and she still lives in the same town. During the divorce process and the few years living alone I began a search for a lifelong mate online. It was difficult to express my feelings in regular form (prose) so I turned to poetry to allow some flexibility in my expression of feelings. The early poems were really goofy, clean but amaturish. As I continued writing I could tell that I was improving and was able to find a style that was comfortable for me. Of course the early material would be the classic (poorly done) love poems. Again always clean. Fortunately I could recycle those I had already written to new lady friends who have not seen my previous poems. Writing poetry was a way to let myself grieve without yelling in the street. I wrote about 100 poems in that time of despair and sorrow over about 4-5 years and now write very infrequently. They are only a few truly sorrowfull ones. Since my new wife keeps me so contented, I hardly feel the tug to put pen to paper. Some of my poems were tear jerkers to my wife of deep empathies. Now that I feel my material has improved, I wanted to get some more unbiased feedback as to the quality of my work. It will take some time if it is to be only one poem at a time. Hopefully my work is easy to read and can be understood by many readers. That is my only real goal now. For anyone wishing to see a selected set of poems I will gladly forward them to anyone that asks for them through my email address. |

why not post a few in open for others to read...that is what this site is for and that way you will get more responses or critiques if that is what you want. Welcome~~ M |

well poetry is a good way of expressing how one feels. a way to break lose. All I can say is I can't wait to see what you have to offer. and welcome to piptalk. You'll love it. Is it to be true that you would hurt me |
