It never seemed to matter much That quirky look he used to get Anytime, He was amused One dark eyebrow sharpened and raised Hinting of all the secrets he knew The laugh that drove me crazy Outrageously silent As he hissed into convulsions I miss it now… How funny he used to be, yet How strange I stopped noticing What happened? I wonder now…. Did he also Forget, the things he loved about me My eyes that sparkle with each giggle Or the warmth of my mouth When I would comfort him From an exhausting day Together we grew from Adoring One another, to Detesting each little habit The serious banter, The ugly striped shirts, My sweat pants ripped and colored With paint; The tangled sheets beneath me, as he Lay cold asleep clutching to what little Blanket he could get Now my bed abandoned by love Made neatly with newly washed sheets Stares unemotionally at me As I sit delicately On my side. My side? How funny that I should have one now. |

Dominique-Simone Well done, the inner termoil of a long relationships fading. Interesting how the habit of sleeping on one side remains after the love is gone. I enjoyed this. Welcome to Passions! ![]() |
