So like a dreamed landmass beyond the sailor’s reach love’s dulcet tones had whispered of tomorrows Just when a lad or lass sheds pride to it beseech an undertow will drown their hope in sorrows Illusion casts a raft that rides into the breech, after its plunge one grasps to beg or borrow all that floats is hope to one torn from love’s beach ? and alone one there dare swim when no oar rows How does one summon strength to buoy above the brine, to persevere, to tread, to carry on, live as though some fate remains where stars align beyond such painful dark some hopeful dawn? That question won’t abate, its answer e’re dismays knowledge is an anchor and it weighs ? Poets against the war is redundant |

First I want to thank you (quite seriously) for highlighting the hidden acrostic message here--it's late and I'm into my cups as they say... But I did read that first, so your first line there had all the more impact...I got the distinct feeling of a windless day on the ocean here-- " So like a dreamed landmass beyond the sailor’s reach love’s dulcet tones had whispered of tomorrows" (and I've always just loved the word dulcet, it's a seductive descriptive thing) and my windless day is further described with this: "and alone one there dare swim when no oar rows" and the questioning of god/gods/fate: "live as though some fate remains where stars align" smile yer a lovely poet yanno? because... "knowledge is an anchor and damn boy does it weigh" thanks for waking me up this a.m. I totally enjoyed this Richard. |

I think...yeah, I hear ya going "oh boy" we are social disaster, we train our little ones in a romantic fantasy love which lasts forever...and it can...it's just that real true love endures the bad as well as the good...maturly enjoying the child growing, even in mistake? Shheesh, what did I just say? Did that make sense? Morning Sir, love your style |

From one that no longer wishes to go in any water, you know I understand this one. The analogy you used for the weight of this knowledge was pretty impressive, and more than accurate |

Richard Youth yearns for love and is not mature enough to hold it...yet years cause the weight from it to be to heavy it begs to hold or drown. But, yes...hope floats at any time, if we but trust it. I really enjoyed the format of this Richard...so very well done! |

Love, when built on trust and faith Holds answers to questions of the unknown. The power of truth and honesty create Keys unlocking doorways of love yet unshown; To give gift of knowing what pain love can abate, Healing spirits, that they might once again soar~ Your words inspired me, I do hope you don't mind to much. This is INCREDIBLE Richard and very much so a for me.....for many many reasons. The greatest beauty on earth, is found in the hearts of those who love....
