The One Oh, she smiles on cue but never shows too much, knows how to hide it, give back kisses for kisses, and tit for tat if it‘s needed; but she misses them and she misses him, and she misses one more as much as the rest, the one she’s never met. She holds her head high when they’re looking and when they’re not no one will know how she cradles her face in shaking hands; tries so hard to hold it in while she aches for them, and she aches for him, aches alone into her pillow for the one she’s never met. She’s painting a life from a limited palette, one color now, and later perhaps another, another; when the rest of life dashes it to the floor she picks up what’s left and if the color’s bright she paints them again, and she paints him too while in simple pastels she tries to define the one she’s never met. The nights run cold when home isn’t home and her heart’s packed up tight for an indefinable journey. Never doubt her, map or not she will see it through, she’s simply made that way; but she loves them, and she loves him still and some day, some day she’ll find she already loves the one she’s never met. Oh my, and here I thought I hid it so well, then ya had to go and see right through me!! Your friendship is immeasurable, and I am truly grateful for your understanding and these heartfelt words you wrote. Thank you James_A, it means so much to be understood, and all the more to be seen in a favorable light, even though you made me cry, simply because you cared enough. To me, there really is no greater gift!! |

Lori, you humble me.... and Martie....yes, humble. There are people in this group I like, and there are people I'm proud to know. |

beautiful write, it takes someone very special to see the truth about another, even when they try so hard to be strong! you have a loving heart and it shows... happy holidays to you, Amy "When life gives you sorrow, may you experience the spirit of laughter" |
