A rabbit hops and stops and looks around
remembering each chase through
stubble rows of winter wheat.

Soaking up the sunshine and the stillness
near the peaceful pasture pond,
it scratches with a lucky foot and sleeps.

With a little lettuce laugh the rabbit dreams
of fat and lazy dogs too tired to run.

What fun this is, for several reasons...
