As I'm always curious, I want you to write a (little) poem about what you see when looking out your front window at the moment you sit down to write to this challenge. Titia A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess... |

Hey Titia But it's dark out, I can't see anything. Hmmm...guess I could write a poem about dark. |

Well, ok... The sun shining bright to a sea of green, The grass waving gently in the breeze. The wind, it is cold, but not to be mean, As there is no such thing on days such as these. The frost and the snow steams off the ground, Though the shadows are saving some. The sun rises higher, until all the snow is found, And urging the clouds to come. The birds are all singing, And the plants are beginning to sprout. The trees rusling in the cold gusts-they are stinging, Spring is on the way! There is no doubt. I give a whole new meaning to the word 'sad.' |

Hey, it's dark here too. But I can see into the neighbours house. Hang on, I'll get the binoculars, see if they're doing anything interesting. If not, I'll just make it up!! lol If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Steam stains window, Drizzling rain pattens one side, Splashing puddles like children, As cars whizz past drive, Lighterning forks sky in dark, Follows hail storm fast, Ice batters right down street, Then sun returns from clouds. Write what you feel, feel what you wrtie. |

A quiet Sunday. Sun shining, wind blowing leaves away. My favorite kind of day, White iron fence between me and the empty street Flower faces turned toward the sun, willow tree swaying in the breeze. Ida Werrett |

Three quarter moon above saw me, with the little dogs in lead walking along the horseshoe street for their nightly need; now tucked in slumber are these pets their dreams to find the squirrels and I in moment a dream to let me whirl in some sweet world. |

I need to write tonight need to cast the words away the way you need a cigarette or need fudge ice cream so I seek a dusty place to put it some forgotten grotto without eyes some non-judgemental corner thick with scribbling traces of bygones on periwinkle walls like love notes in a restroom from middle school need to make my note upon the others over, under, alongside as evening tries outside to be a cliche tries to fall, to drift, to fade, yes even uses the tired same old colors I could list but you already know them by heart and I watch the swallows that feather in all my poems duck quick beneath the darkling eaves building nests again which irritates on some level because no matter how you try you cannot stop them, year after year they come, pecking through your metal defenses to place their straw their bits of feathers, hair and dry reed-willows and build their nests and hatch their chicks no matter how you wish they wouldn`t. . Shadows, now, the tall fir black against the indigo, stars twitch and tumble clear or is that a satellite oh nothing ever what it seems and now hear the voice of iron responsibility ringing from within the glowing house and mom, it`s time to put away your poem pat it away inside your soul or smear it forever onto the internet- safe in your maybe anonymnity. |
