When He Sang {Thank you Mr. Lightfoot} Craggy face lithesome grace on strings of marionette still had a dance a song, a prance and wow could he still sing cool cool kids and white-haired folk gave a listen teared and choked pulled out of musician's bag songs of note that he wrote transported me back to '63 when I fell in love with him it was then that he embraced guitar and strings and touched my face with his song I belonged. ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 28 August 2000 |

LOL at you! Serenity! My folks had me so swaddled in naivety that being a hippie was the furthest thing from my mind! When I finally grew up...it was 1980! But the music does stay with one, doesn't it! |

Amazing how certain singers can do that to us....and Gordon is certainly one of them. Very nice, Sunshine |

Magical night it must have been. His lingering voice as he breaks out in one of his ballads has a sort of mystical haunting to it that beckons one to live his words within their souls. Excellent write my friend. |

Yes, 'Deer...so right...and heaven help me, I thought of so many here at Passions while being swayed by the notes... O my, Mark, you WERE there! I thought I saw you standing center stage! [Yes, you're getting THAT good!] |

When I read this, I couldn't help but think of "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" I absolutely loved that song when I was a wee one...it always haunted me in a way, as only his voice has ever haunted me. Thanks for the memory and wonderful writing! Don't care what people say Just follow your own way Don't give up and use the chance To return to innocence. -Enigma |

Oh! Oh! Sunshine, the music in this soared. Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

Sonjes...the cook on the "Edmund Fitzgerald" has a daughter who resides here in my town...she had front-row center seats and a personal meeting with Mr. Lightfoot after the concert...I am glad you found this [see Anticipating Mr. Lightfoot if you've not already read it] and even happier that you enjoyed it... Kethry, as it should...thank you! [This message has been edited by Sunshine (edited 08-30-2000).] |
