I don't know if this is the correct forum to post this. My apologies, if so. Is it worth considering (or even possible)to put a "like" button(like the one on facebook) on this website? or maybe even a "thumbs up" emoticon? for those of us who aren't very "wordy" when it comes to replying... anyone else think this is a good idea, or am i really an idiot for suggesting it? |

Ethern, Hi. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'll offer my opinion. I do understand the desire for a 'like' button. Sometimes I don't have time to respond or I don't know what to say. However, comments are the life blood of PiP. I try to come in and read when I know that I have the time to savor what I read and that I have the time to share my thoughts. It might be nice to see how many people read our poetry, but, honestly, that doesn't matter to me. The community matters to me and comments help build and sustain the community of PiP. Thank you. I am keenly conscientious about respecting the form of an authors personal artistic expression, and will most likely never criticize any topic in a thread. And when I acclaim a topic, it will be with characteristic modesty. Usually, I feel like anything more than a sincere applaud from me is not warranted, so most of my replies are not much more than: "well done" or "good work". Generally, the sole purpose of my reply is to acknowledge a work that I like and express my approval to the author. I am positive that I would more freely express my personal satisfaction with the works of many more members if i could do so via "point and click". It is not unreasonable to assume that others would too. I conject that the addition of a tool such as a "Like Button" to this forum would be well received and appreciated as well as expressly utilized. The "Like" button on Facebook has become famous. It is a convenient feature that users have become familiar and handy with, The notification: "Derrick likes this" is readily welcomed by friends who are grateful as much for recognition as they are for commentary. Many publications would falsely appear to be plainly ignored or overlooked by interested but unassuming inquirers if not for the easy affirmation afforded by the "thumbs up" icon, comfortably accessible. I doubt that any members who enjoy posting more complex replies would be dissuaded from doing so because of this simple modification. Thank you very much for this engagement, Alison. I appreciate your attention and consideration. |

And thank you for the appropriation, Ron. I wasn't sure where I should post this topic. |
