How about a forum where new members could introduce themselves?
A lot of new members I think won't rush into posting any work in the forums but will be here quite long time just reading and enjoying, and finding out how people are here beforehand. And they probably look for a sort of "Introduce Yourself" forum or section often. If there were a link on the main page and found easily, I think many new members would immediatly go there. It would allow them to share a few things about themselves--likes, dislikes, what they do, how long they've been writing, etc--as much as they might wish to add--even a peronal biography if they'd like. I think it would be nice way to get a aqainted with new people and welcome them a bit more personally.

Is it a good idea?

I like this idea a lot.. when I first joined I was looking for such a thread, so I could say hello and introduce myself, plus let everyone know a little info about meself.. I know it uses more space but I feel it`s a great lil idea, if it`d work~?!
