The Scorpion and the Frog - by The Vestibular Bard One day a scorpion and frog, Met by a river, near a bog, The scorpion devised a plan, He thought was clever and quite grand. He asked the frog; ‘would you so mind To carry me on your behind, To yonder side of river’s shore, Once over there, I’ll hunt some more’ But froggy was not so naïve, Said; “you will sting me I believe, And for that reason, I decline, To give a ride on my behind’. The scorpion then pled his case; ‘I will not sting you in this place, For if I did, I know deep down, That you and I would surely drown’. With this the frog was satisfied, A ride for Scorpy, he'd provide, Started swimming, in the river, Its cold water, made him shiver. But then right in mid river’s stream, A stinger made the frog to scream, He felt the venom paralyze, And looked into his new friend’s eyes… ‘Why’d you to do this’, he said with frown, ‘Now we both will surely drown’… But the scorpion could only say; “It’s just my nature… …to act this way” |

I have used this story as an example to my grand kids on why some people behave the way they do. Well done! Some just do it because they can. |
