The Ocean’s Ancient Pull The lazy waves climb up the shore, To lap up grains of snow-white sand. And once the grains are fresh and pure, Deposits them on warm, dry land. The smallest crabs are in a war With birds that chase them to and fro, As Tropic breezes seem to cure What urban-madness ills can grow. Escape seems as a distant hope, Yet Nature’s joys take me away From where the burdens that I fear Would choke the life from ev’ry day. And so the waters help me cope As care is banned from whence it dwells-- A tonic wave for ev’ry fear That’s gentled by the silken swells. The peaceful whisper of the waves Is synchronized within my soul; When sand and water call me home, I feel the ocean’s ancient pull. And as my very being craves To be as one with sun-drenched skies, I seek my solace in the foam Where Neptune’s power seethes and sighs. Perhaps, one day this sun-kissed place Will be my home forevermore; As seabirds dance above the fray, Where breakers swell and cool mists soar. Until that time I turn my face To catch the last of sunset’s rays, And feel the salve of ocean spray Soothe all the cares from all my days. Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? |

Thanks, passing shadows! I live far from the beach, in the desert southwest to be exact, so I am working entirely from a fevered brain full of memories! Thanks again for your kind words. John Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? |

Hi, Marge. Yes, I got both of your messages. Aren't you a sweetie! I will look for some of your poetry tomorrow. I'm done for the night. I've been up all night working on a project, but I better get SOME sleep or I'll be a basket case! John xo Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? |
