I think of you
as a friend of measure
I count you among the treasures
of gifts stored in a corner of my heart
That you care for me is a gift,
wrapped in loving friendship,
ever turning
Because~
our friendship bears
the fruit of nurtured care
tended daily with the sharing
of caring thoughts that keeps our friendship strong
I raise my voice in praising thanks
we have one another
that's great by me
Because~
I need your love
as a testament to
who I am, and hope yet to be
firmly anchored to the friendships in store
knowing that just in the giving
I get back so much more
to give away
Because~
in its' return
it brings new sun shining
brighter, lighter, than e're before
warming the hearth of my heart and my home
with truest friendships of adore
golden treasures gleaming
richness is found
Because~
knowing of you
is finding a treasure
that, when unearthed, glows Heavenly
Keeping the foreverly of you close
enough to reach and touch each day
within my heart to grow
You are friend, just

If ever there were one that reaped what she did sow, it would be you. Like poetry, you have beauty and grace. Like poetry, you carry others along in a rhythm of peace. Like poetry, you sustain, entertain, inspire, and uplift.

In fact, dear Marge, you are the personification of poetry. And it is better because of you. Just like so many of us here, myself included, are better souls since meeting you and your gift.

Your poem is beautiful, but does not come close to the beauty you possess.

It has taken me awhile to formulate my response to this posting. My response is two fold. First, I revere Abe Lincoln for his eloquence. I find in this posting an eloquence seldom seen. Second, though I speak with the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I am as worthless as white noise. Here I find pitch and tone of clearest quality. My simple, an only possible, summation: THANK YOU
