Autumn's Dance

When autumn comes a dancing with her cool and gentle flow
Bashfully the trees will blush as the winds begin to blow
Her colored gown spreads softly o’er the woodlands as she twirls
And the fallen leaves rise up on gusts to dance with her in swirls

The heat of summer steps aside, the dancing floor to yield
Her cool lips leave a frosty kiss on the pumpkins in the field
Farmers gladly welcome her as she ripens all their crops
As she dances ‘cross the meadows and o’er the mountaintops

Gracefully she pirouettes in a colorful ballet
Spreading bits of red and gold as she goes upon her way
And as she finishes her dance and winter enters in
The countryside will slumber as it waits for her again

If Autumn could bloom
she would do so, in this poem...
simply because of the way you led her on...
and led her, to be.

[P.S. It is marvelous, when read aloud!]

Stephen~
Oh my, at the sheer lyrical beauty of this piece when read out loud~

It dances off the tongue so merrily~

Would make such a lovely piece printed out and framed in a kaleidoscope of Autumn leaves ... with your permission, I'd like to do just that !!!

Absolutely beautiful! *S* Our "autumn" is about 5 minutes long... but you let me experience what it should be through your words. *S*
