A de-winged angel falls too soon into a dark and empty void and, lo, the wall of death in upward loom and ominous to one so well accustomed to the dawn of a tomorrow. Tall of stature, short of will; to no avail her feeble jumps when tied her heart to earth and her claim to motherhood. Hands, fingers, toes, and feet search and feel for crevices but no handhold or a “lift me up” in walls that only spirit climbs. And so no fallen angel I still with wing and well endowed to scale the highs and lows placed exactly and just so to make me think and think again. I think of you and me and then until de-winged and thrown into the void of my today that keeps me so in baleful stare but for now it dawns another day and I’ve grown accustomed to the habit of remembering. To life I say, “Aim, fire and wing. You’ve done it well; not yet the bell that suffocates the dawn!" Helen / 6 October 2006 |

Helen "And so no fallen angel I still with wing and well endowed to scale the highs and lows placed exactly and just so to make me think and think again." Your thoughts ripple, my friend. |

"Hands, fingers, toes, and feet search and feel for crevices but no handhold or a “lift me up” in walls that only spirit climbs." The analogy of mountain climbing...Helen, how appropriate! Much enjoyed this and thanks for sharing. ....jo |
