My darling you saved me From a dark dark place You were the only one To put a smile on my face You helped me to deal With my ever sinking mind Your warm encapsulating love Such a wonderful find Your arms wrapped around me In my hours of need Wiping away my tears In your embrace I felt freed For you are my hero I owe everything to you You are my eternal heartbeat And everything else too For my wife. |

Thankyou for all your kind words. It is my first effort at writing. Hopefully i can write some more in the future. In the meantime i am going to read others submissions and enjoy the different writing styles and draw inspiration from them. P.S my wife has not seen the poem yet. I only wrote it yesterday. I will give it to her on her birthday next month. Thanks again |

I must apologise for not replying sooner, Craig, somehow I managed not to notice that this was your first post. I add my own samll welcome and also my thanks for letting us read this wonderful poem. I think your wife will be very pleased with the present. I hope to see more from you soon. "The world won't end in darkness, it'll end in family fun With Coca Cola clouds behind a Big Mac sun."
