Can’t take from him that which is given willingly; wouldn’t even think to go without for his timber is never chilling; but listening to the music when the timber is shuddering, hoofs are heart-treats beating, something fast is strum, strum, humming, quick and quicker yet and then slow, slow, slow the beat this slow turned strain of some streamlined limb holding pleasant in some quiet, some memory-archived trees just now some soon to be strung without leaves but to be found, clinging with some dream hanging, when some scattering of moonlight on shadows falls; when some little green-[then come] brown-eyed gal is looking up in smiling delight in some spring-like summer falling into winter light and his song is sung, again but just for the horses, oh Lord, just for the horses’ lullaby. ~*~ Responsive ode to MMM’s "Carolina in the Pines" and "All the Dancing Horses". And a note: Ellsworth, Kansas, held a three day full-fledged horse-ridden cow roundup; MMM came to visit and enjoy, and contribute in song and other ways. I wasn't there, but it's been read about in several states. Visit: http://www.nationaldrovers.com/events.htm They say it's all been done before. But sometimes, some of us haven't yet been there, or done that. ~*~ © Karilea Rilling Jungel October 3, 2006 [This message has been edited by Sunshine (10-05-2006 02:38 PM).] |

Sissie...isn't it amazing that music can do this....others clap or tap and you write a poem that I'm sure he'd love to read. |

[Crap Edited ... Ron] I have to say that a poetry forum that doesn`t allow constructive critique from the open (that is where I write from) I consider not worth my trouble as an artist. [I tend to agree it's not worth your trouble. And, and since this is about your third warning, you're no longer worth mine. Ron] [This message has been edited by Ron (10-05-2006 01:11 PM).] |
