5728 Guardian of her Heart 30 September 2006 There once was a girl the most beautiful Canadian alive Of those men who saw her, crazy her awesomely stunning looks would drive She was Ontario as Ontario never was She was Kitchener, her place of birth She was heaven, an angel, she was a Goddess, in every way of worth More than a girl a woman to grow tall Yet men did not always give her their respect because she made them feel lower in ways of small Her heart was big, her soul not always free or given that of resonance. God created her, because she was his angel This guardian of her heart For she knew this was life and giving and forgiving was for her, a price, never too great in ways to pay God's belittled angel, the one who would, find her true love some day © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
