This sonnet is based on "Love Libations" by Linda L. Dowd (Earth Angel). I loved the original, and did this as an 'exercise' to transcribe it into sonnet form. With Linda's blessing, here it is: Thy silver tongue doth tickle mine own sense And stir my passion beyond earthly norm; As fiery words so burn of love immense, So ignite sweet fires within my form. What was unknown, now surges with new force And brings a flush of petal pink - then lifts My soul on passion's tide - to freely course Within and swell my thirst for thine own gifts - I beseech thee, to offer naught to me But only honor and intentions pure - Then I release and give myself to thee, Abandon care, submit to love's allure: But sip slow my intoxication sweet, For I be worth the savour thou shall meet. Emulation is the highest form of flattery! I thank you Sir Knight for transforming my poem into a lovely sonnet. Beautifully done, CG! EA |

Thank you, Linda, it was both a challenge, and a pleasure doing it. Glad you liked it. CG |
