5675 Scent of Companionship 04 September 2006 Where was fatherhood if you were a man This angle of posting mail just to know the letter was in the box For without the woman there would be neither man Without that love the void does exist That scent of companionship the relationship of mother and child All those months of delivery to birth so what was parenthood in the man’s worth To live, to die, no issue to account the publication cancelled The tree no longer to seed No words, not birth in certification borne just a blankness on a family tree to read “Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.” 1 Corinthians 11: 11-12KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |

If I were writing the questions to ask arriving souls at the gate of heaven, I think three of them would be: Did you partake of the pleasures of life, so that you could be fulfilled, and bless the people around you with happiness? Did you share where sharing would uplift, and help where help could be given? And I also would ask.... Did you love a child? There might be others I'd ask, but I know those three would be high on the list. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

I do not know how you found this poem, that must have been way down the page some where. But I am more than glad you did, because the day I composed the above works, something indeed happened. And maybe for a good reason, sure there was a connection, only this one could indeed be life changing. Thus perhaps that desire to be finally a husband and a father, may yet be the poets reality, and not his downfall. a poet who cares |
