Diamond rough colorless crystalline carbon, Diverse surface of precious abstract angles, Colossal compression pressure cooker, Diamondiferous ground sparkling earth. Splitting planed crystallized rock shavings, Cleavage splitting molecules brilliance, Transparent fire in spectrum illumination, Faceted brilliant bezel sculptured jewel. Gem of your eyes sparking diamond love, Rough cut of what I was without your love. Polished vow cherishing your devoted love, Cleavage of earth on a delicate gem, I love you. One can live underground inside utter darkness Moving around earths mundane rotating surface, Existing as a pebble under a mountain of gravel, Shifting grain of sand drifting the vast oceans. But the universe of ‘YOU’ focused bright, Momentary glance of monumental magnetic Physical reaction of spontaneous combustion, The gem from the rough uncut diamond. (This is one of a series of poems dedicated to my sister on her birthday and her devoted husband John. May I someday find this kind of Diamond Love. Sis I love you, Happy Birthday.) David L. D.Lester Young You know when I married 64 years ago I called my wife a diamond in the rough. LOL and I'm still polishing. Enjoyed the read |
