5720 Emerald Dreams 23 September 2006 She was the star in my sky the light if my emerald dreams Her heart captured in gem a genuine woman of destiny Years gone, past lost future first, man’s hunger Could it be love were her eyes on ice Time demented, frozen even still this birthstone of Sagittarius Her name fit for a queen compassion, passions angel What works both ways has a center to beholden too What comes in the middle was love, that love in you true Emerald, is a variety of the mineral beryl, colored green by trace amounts of chromium and sometimes iron. It is highly prized as a gemstone and by weight is the most valuable gemstone in the world. Emeralds come in many shades of green and bluish green. There is a wide spectrum of clarity, along with various numbers of inclusions. Most emeralds are highly included, so it is quite rare to find an emerald with only minor inclusions. © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
