Nothing Happens By Chance I ventured into the wilderness not long ago, to find my way, followed the yellow brick road though some figured me a stray. Seasons change for reasons, nothing happens by chance. Me, I fell out of the family tree and remembered how to dance. Kansas, she embraced me while Missouri simply smiled, the old porch always welcomed me where the firewood was piled. I thought I’d find a purpose there living off of State Line Road, but it dawned on me that sometimes we need to lighten up the load. Heavy hearts are not good for living. I stopped questioning reasons why and smiled back at Missouri as Kansas waved goodbye. |

Dear Dixie, if I could bottle up your courage I would, but alas I sit on the porch and wonder what could have been, what should have been. One day my feet may find the shoes of freedom and the road to dreams. Enjoyed the read dear friend, hope you are well. Sincerely Rick |

Hope, I know you understand ![]() MukkaKukka, thank you for reading and leaving your thought...you are so right! Ethel, thank you for reading and commenting. Your words are always appreciated greatly! Rick my friend, (they say) the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...but really it's the same. I sure don't see myself as courageous, but only humbled by the lessons learned. Indeed, I do understand what you are saying though. Still, there is no place for regret, not in me and not in you either ![]() Lee, thank you for this wonderful comment! I'm glad you liked this! |
