O how free is the human soul! To roam Unrestrained and unbound the chambers vast Of the celestial sphere; to soar the dome Of blue, beneath the Sun's own golden cast - But in an earthly kingdom we must keep, In this form that no recompense will yield - What proof is, but the breath that surges deep Of the wonders that within are sealed - Yet each breath will but briefly within dwell, Then released returns again - to remain Thus chained in a binding bond onto this shell - Where the key to unlock this locked domain? In time the sought release will come - kind Death, But swing thy scythe and free the shackled breath. CG [This message has been edited by CastleGuard (09-21-2006 01:21 AM).] |
