I usually find explaining poetry blashemous but regardless... This is the first poem i ever truly wrote. My father passed away on the Fourth of July, 2001. Outside of school i never wrote anything, this has inspiried me to create more. My father is my inspiration. I was 16, i am now 20 and these words still hold a great deal of meaning and significance. I feel this is a deeply personal write, which is why things may not resonate as they do with me... Either way, i hope you enjoy. The stars that shine so bright Only live for half the life Its natures way Its natures life A work of magic in the eyes The sly magicians great disguise Greater than god could ever see The sinful’s leader in misery Its always hard to lose the one Just when you thought they’re good they’re done It doesn’t make sense to wisp away Death it seems is far too grave Destiny holds the futures lies Master of our own demise Afraid of Life afraid of Death Afraid of living with something left We’ve come so far to be in the past Why cant life forever last Relationships come and go Love is like a worthy foe A game of life a game of mind Please don’t let me live so blind So I call to the heavens of natures way Life’s worth living ill make it pay Style from grace Window of faith A language from apes Transcended by seed Absent from greed A higher intelligence Brought by benevolence Misery and greed Not born from the seed Magical as a god A whisper from above of natures true beauty Mountains and space Flowers and race Hand over your keys And ill show you the kingdom ancient as dirt The higher intelligence abound dissolving boundaries Things are strange They must not be happening Straight from the dream of powers passion I sing your life’s song in perfect requiem This visions coming true As you fall to the floor my mind hides deep inside Lights swirl in circles with the sound of bombs Explosion Fire works take the sky As my tears just pass me by The sound of death brought through the thunderous night Raining light The world should stop Only it skips a beat But its all the same just one less soul A casualty of life’s honest goal Because way back beyond bright blue skies Is right where the devil lies Tied up in gods sorry story He’s killed so many its easy to see I look deep inside and realize the truth Gods the devil, blinding the masses Ideas like that, you must take us for asses You see My addiction, it has two faces My addiction lies in bright blue skies My addiction lies bent on demise Swept away to luscious lands Always begging to takes its hand A foreign land I’ve found inside Dreams have found a place to hide My addiction, it has two faces My addiction lies with truthful eyes My addiction lies deep down inside Were all guaranteed a place to die Were all guaranteed a place to hide A peaceful rest in the waking of worlds A forgotten story of birth and innocence Crushed by novelty and rape of the blind Jesus, how did we get so far behind Welcome to my world where passions clash I pray my life will forever last I’ve traveled the Far East, I’ve traveled the veins of blood, love I’ve traveled irony and ecstasy Traversed deaths destiny Holding me tight Waiting to take flight No more will I walk the lines of truth No more will I walk the lines of life No more will this life offer me a hand Just another precious land Hues and shoes for walking, Hearts for loving I have nothing Hearts for Death I have nothing left I’ve never seen such bright blue sky’s Master of my own demise Plant it, watch it grow Watch it suffer so Hitting the end is my lonely friend Something I can never make mend You only get one chance to live a thousand lives You only get one life to master the skies Plant it, watch me suffer so How was I to know what was in store for me Waiting on the other side like wanted and forgotten friends I have no more soul in my body No more body in my soul Ripped and shredded red A sullen and aborted bed Waiting at any moment to be swept away Death chooses the place to lay This is the tragedy of errors You call it work I call it blind Isolation from my only friends You’ve watched it all slip away While you sleep in warm beds grave Rest in peace as your soul quivers Rest in peace as your body shivers Only redemptions shy casual eyes Can deliver us from tragedy’s lies I wont trade who I am For a Never Never Land |

A very insightful poem, Nikerlz. You lost your father at a very young age. I really don't care what age we are, the loss of a beloved parent will always stay with us. Welcome to Passions. |

I understand such feelings, having just now lost both my Mom and my Dad. I do, however, feel blessed to have had them in my life for many more years than you had your father in yours. It must have been exceptionally difficult for you at the tender age of 16. A very moving write. Love & Eternal Light, EA |

This is pretty amazing writing. I understand the loss and the questions as I kind of went through some of that when my brother died. It's an amazing piece of work that you wrote. aziza |
