(I've written this song, which is one of the hardest songs I've ever written because this issue makes me heavily emotional, to encourage urgently to everyone of the crucial importance that we not forget that there are millions elsewhere in the world, who are going to die if the world doesn't join together in a loud collective call to unite and work to form a peacekeeping operation to the Darfur region in the hopes of preventing a massive ethnic cleansing from happening, which could claim as many as 2.5 million innocent lives, most of which would be children. On this Global Day Of Action For Darfur, there are multiple things you can do in making this coalition of the most willing and compassionate possible: * 1) Voice Of America: August 9, 2006 By the first of October, it is hoped that we'll have a United Nations peacekeeping force deployed there, to continue to strengthen what was formerly a 7,000 strong African Union mission in the region that's capable of more competently dealing with their limitations at the moment. In strengthening the mission, we strengthen the potential in controlling this conflict. We've got to see to it this effort happens before its deadline, and moreover make the Darfur Peace & Accountability Act law, as it remains stuck in a conference committee at this time. Encourage President Bush and other world leaders to stand firm to this deadline and see to it this mission is accomplished. Also read Senator Lieberman's bill known as S. Res. 531, which calls for just that. 2) Sudan Divestment Campaign By backing a new addition to the Darfur Peace & Accountability Act known as Section 11, it will allow states, cities, and universities to divest their holdings from Sudan without the threat of an impending lawsuit, which is the first step in attempting to stamp out the diverting of aid dollars to Sudanese government officials that themselves play passive roles in the conflict and guerrillas. 3) We need to make sure that these peacekeeping operations don't become underfunded. Our country has always done a wonderful job in being the provider of more than 25% of all UN peacekeeping units, but as of late they've fallen a little behind, and there is a proposal right now to contribute an additional $100 million for the 2007 budget to help fund and stabilize these operations. 4) Genocide Intervention: Ten Things You Can Do Right Now Finally, the link above shows ten basic ways you can lead toward building concern to the issue at hand. * May we continue to pray for the hundreds of thousands of victims in Sudan, pray that not only will help continue to be on the way, but better days for them are on the horizon as well, which are always made possible with the altruistic spirit of the human heart and community! * * Darfur By: Noah Eaton 9/16/06 “Almighty God, the Great Thumb we cannot evade to tie any knot; the roaring Thunder that splits mighty trees… you are the one who does not hesitate to respond to our call, you are the cornerstone of peace..." . . . Doesn’t it break your heart, realizing we live under the same sky, while children are afraid of the dark, too many men are afraid of the light, doesn’t it bring you pain, when some live preparing to die, breathing just to breathe, drinking to survive. And if our last great hope, has become tomorrow’s pejorative, is recollecting the phoenix enough, to anoint the world restorative… How can we forget, how can we accept, disaster as part of our evolution, doesn’t it make you cry… How can you sleep, when there are millions of children, staring right back at you, peering into your eyes… Darfur, Darfur, Darfur… Have your drawers become overstocked, with tautologies, have we broken from the branch, have we lost our sense of anthropology, was the tree of life designed, to be planted between the graves, does the thought of where you live, deciding how long you live, MAKE YOU FEEL ASHAMED... And if our last great hope, has become tomorrow’s pejorative, is recollecting the phoenix enough, to anoint the world restorative… How can we forget, how can we accept, disaster as part of our evolution, doesn’t it make you cry… How can you sleep, when there are millions of children, staring right back at you, peering into your eyes… Darfur, Darfur, Darfur… Almighty God, the Great Thumb we cannot evade to tie any knot; the roaring Thunder that splits mighty trees… ...you are the one who does not hesitate to respond to our call, you are the cornerstone of peace…" BE THE GUIDE OF THE BLIND, THE WATER OF THE SEEDS, THE STRENGTH TO THE WEAK, THE CLOTHING TO THE NAKED, AMEN! And if our last great hope, has become tomorrow’s pejorative, is recollecting the phoenix enough, to anoint the world restorative… How can we forget, how can we accept, disaster as part of our evolution, doesn’t it make you cry… How can you sleep, when there are millions of children, staring right back at you, peering into your eyes… Darfur, Darfur, Darfur… Darfur, Darfur, Darfur… Darfur, Darfur, Darfur… Darfur, Darfur, Darfur… . . . . . . . "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" Mother Teresa |

Thank you dear Noah, for this powerful prayer-poem-song, born in your loving and generous heart. You are one of those who contribute to the awakening of people to love. Every step in this direction, small as it may seem on an individual level, will contribute to build the critical mass needed to truly change things, to find solutions ... for in those children's eyes, if we look closely, we will be able to see the Divine spark of our Creator ... so how in earnest can we tolerate what is being done onto them? Peace be. Love, Margherita |

Have your drawers become overstocked, with tautologies, have we broken from the branch, have we lost our sense of anthropology, was the tree of life designed, to be planted between the graves, does the thought of where you live, deciding how long you live, MAKE YOU FEEL ASHAMED... ~*~ Of all the stanzas, besides that one child's mirror eyes, this stands out best, Noah. Thank you for your humanitarism, your love, hope and faith... There is so much to correct in this world. Thank you. |

If this was an oil producing country than there would have been many an earlier intervention into the internal politics of the country and a halt to the tribal feuding fed by religious undertakings |
