You light a candle and take my hand
trying once agian to help me understand
a language more powerful than words
emotions complicating anything pure
I just so need to be sure
dreaming awake and dreaming the dark
the flames begin with a single spark
my well runs deep and your flames are quenched
my soul thirsty, broken and spent
looking back with so many regrets
I open my eyes and begin to see
that you were always pulling for me
trying so hard to live in the here and now
the candle still burning
I take your hand, knowing that you can show me how
