He walked the halls, slowly, quitely, hesitantly. Looking in rooms searching for nothing yet something vital. A thing to enlighten, a thing to inspire, a thing to welcome to raise smile or ire. He walked the walls read the graffiti sprayed, the art of the masses meaning unknown to all but a chosen few. He walked the halls fingering railings caressing walls so familiar but alien hearing footfall echo He walked the halls straining to hear voice or song or noise of any sort He walked the walls realizing he was done he could never come back as he was before to those he knew before He walked the walls head up and spirit strong a new man in an old place new beginings in these halls. Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. |

You'll be surprised, JP - how quickly you can settle in with new friends. One of the most consistent things about this place is that it's constantly changing a bit. I have to say, sadly, that I don't know most of our poets now as well as we all did in the beginning. Many from the earlier days do still keep in touch though, and we welcome our new folks with open arms - because they bring with them new 'stuff' to read. I have to say that I'm overjoyed when someone such as you comes knocking... Because PiP hugs for '99 originals - especially May of '99, our very first couple of weeks - are really something special, aren't they?? |

Wish I had been here in 99 as I hear there were some fantastic poets then, but change is good. And the newbies like me are fantastic. Hugs |

Very impressive. You managed to conjur very evocative images with very few words (I wish I could do that! I always ramble on) - the whole thing felt very nostalgic. They aren't flaps; they're my face! |
