5695 Let the Rhythm Sway 12 September 2006 Was there such a thing as because, because I love you. Was there such an outcome as truth, in wanting to love you true. Each day, each apple to peel, an orange, a lemon, your little squeal. A mother, a child, even six foot tall, those heels upon you feet, love them all. Tania, your eyes of golden light, where inside this love did hide. Hidden from fear, nice and safe, not to be overlooked or in disgrace. Smile within your heart and let the rhythm sway. For I will catch you when you fall. Because I was meant to be with you there someday. “We grown-up people think that we appreciate music, but if we realized the sense that an infant has brought with it of appreciating sound and rhythm, we would never boast of knowing music. The infant is music itself. In the cradle it in moving its little arms and legs in a certain rhythm. And when our music falls on the ears of an infant it is of the lowest character compared with the music it is accustomed to.” Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1927) founder of Universal Sufism and the Sufi Order International. © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |

This piece reminds me of lullabies. AFV on TV has shown babies movements in time to some great music. Rae |
