December Song

measured and graceful
save this December song
simply a miracle
thrilling…ornately powerful
eloquent lamp oil
hued gold
things of color
picture framed
around our window
of time
         rings
                of dreams
                           solidify

you’ve cleansed wounds
erased shadows
of passing clouds

some permissible alteration
uninterrupted sounds

of a violin

elements shaping begin

something I’ve never known
yet, sensed was carved
deep into stone

tracing the corner
of your mouth

gives one instance
worth a lifetime

romping uphill
toward
green dipping pastures

yet
     ascending
                  to
                      kindle

a fire of sea green wood

as recomposes & memento
backdrops nature’s divination

touching every rib of man

feathers of swallows

float to an evolving grace

soaring

swooping

like commingled mindedness

rushing to an unplanned stream
as if a pattern told something
worth knowing

something utterly worth
singing to the soul of wind

can you hear their voices?

and there, out of the fog
I see you so unafraid
so adamant

walking

toward

these

little notes

in this

little room

Lee,
Happy Birthday too! Shouldn't you have the day off? Oh, that's right, writing isn't work. Enjoyed the read.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I do love your December Song.
And once again, as you know how,
you’ve managed to melt my heart.

My Heart Unseen

My heart, as a metronome,
hidden,
in a cardboard box.
Its clicking pendulum rhythm
pacing time’s clock.
Unable to censor a last click,
or to suspend the next tock…
Listening to the rhythm
hidden in a cardboard box…
Clicking:
Tick-tock
Tick-tock…

My heart unseen:
A metronome
in a cardboard box…

Happy Birthday!!

You are one hell of a writer. This piece fairly bubbles off the page.

Merry Christmas Dear Poet.

A belated, but heartfelt
birthday wish for you...
and may all of your candles
leave their promises
by granting your wishes...

It's been a while since I've visited this site; and I'm truly glad that I did! That was surpassingly beautiful, really elegant. It had a gorgeous kind of stream-of-consciousness feel to it, the words seemed to just slip by. Excellent job.

Lee,

What a beautiful December song.  After I read it once, I was compelled to re-read this passage several times again.  I'm taken by the seemingly effortless flow of rhythm, image, and phonemes.  Very pretty, Lee.   Thanks for sharing your talent.
