Her love for me is long forgot, No joy could e’er persuade, My heart to soar... As it had before, Nor my words again essayed. For silent falls my lip, And candid ne’er my heart, My mind in cloud... With love, it's shroud, And forever shall we part. And blinded were my eyes, To the pain that would descend, My insensate soul... Could ne’er extol, Your virtues ‘til the end. Then banished were your arms, That with tenderness had held, Our forms to each... But out of reach, And lost - the love that dwelled. Will regrets replace our memories, Can love recall its youth? Of the days we spent... With loves consent, In moments blessed by truth. No! The love that was, is over, And wasted was our chance, No dreams to see... No you – no me, Just the final, farewell dance. Poetry is just the evidence of life. |
