Tears of a Monster My pen has been squeezed tighter These last true lines of revelation, Revealing emotions that dribble red drops of ink Onto cloudy irises already tinctured with pain As I struggle and fight with the sin of my nature Trying to regain balance and purity in my life Lost one morning the sun forgot to shine Leaving nights of cold rain and tempered calm To my soul shadowing thoughts beyond the flames warmth, Gently embracing flowers known only to Heaven As an apparition of an Angel inhales sweet fragrances Until jealousy, hunger, and loneliness have been consumed, A burning bitterness in the stomach, Regurgitated into words, tattoos and songs From the heart of a poet, dreamer and man… But sometimes monster. Power within the lines of this briar rose. Well descript, the battle of the soul to live in light. A hunger sensed beneath the words... Write it out. |
